Керівник європейської зони ICCF досить несподівано оголосив про початок нових змагань – 1-й європейський кубок серед ветеранів First EU Senior Cup. Хоча цього змагання немає в календарі ICCF-Europe, мабуть, цікаво було б поборотись за такий почесний титул.
За схемою організації масового турніру він копіює світовий ветеранський кубок ICCF з деякими відмінностями, а саме:
Більш жорсткий контроль часу – 30 днів на 10 ходів;
Відсутність призового фонду;
Для призерів у фіналі будуть вручені крім медалей три спеціальні кубки;
Турнірний внесок складає 4,68 євро напряму (Direсt Entry) або 155,00 грн на розрахунковий рахунок ФЗШУ.
Реєстрація здійснюється через сайт ICCF до 1 червня 2021 року, а при сплаті через рахунок ФЗШУ – до 25 травня 2021 року.

ICCF Zone 1 (Europa) is delighted to announce a new tournament for EU veteran players – new EU Senior Cup that would be started every year.
The first EU Senior Cup will start on 25th June 2021.
The tournament will be organized in two or three stages (depending on number of entries) with ICCF Title norms to be possible to achieve at each stage. The number of promotions will depend on total entries received. The groups at the preliminary stage will be of 9 to 13 players. The tournament is played by web server. Standard time control with 30 days as Initial time and 3 days for each move guaranteed will be used, doubling after 20 days, with 20 days leave for each calendar year. The event will be rated.
Eligibility
The first EU Senior Cup is open to all players who are 60 years old or more at the start date of the tournament. Therefore, players have to be at least 60 years old on 25th June 2021.
Entries
Players may enter:
through their federation (contact your federation for the amount of the entry fee)
where eligible, via the ICCF Direct Entry system.
Entry fee is 6 Euro.
Although the number of preliminary groups which each player may enter is unlimited, no player will qualify for more than two semi-final groups or for more than one place in the final. Entries should be made via the server from the “New events” page. It would be appreciated if delegates would approve entries made through their federation via the server as soon as possible after receipt rather than delay them until the closing date. Entries sent by email directly to the tournament organizer by delegates or players will not be accepted. Closing date for entries is 1st June 2021.
Prizes
Electronic certificates are for top three finishers in each preliminary/semifinal group. Medals and certificates are for top three players in the Final. Special Cup for the winner, cups for silver and bronze medalists.
Preliminaries
The groups at the preliminary stage will be of 9 to 13 players. Play begins on June,25 2021 and ends on June,25 2022. Unfinished games that are necessary for qualification to the next stage will be adjudicated. Other games will be finished by the players.
All senior chess players are heartily invited to enter this new tournament, both for the enjoyment of games and for friendly communication with senior players from Europe.
